Digital transformation in executive education - what makes Goethe Business School successful

Goethe Business School Frankfurt (GBS) has completely revised its educational offering in recent years. In order to meet the challenges of the modern working world, intensive work was done on the program substance (structure and content). For example, existing programs were modernized with new learning content and new programs were created that are tailored to the changing tasks for managers, especially as a result of increasing digitization and "new work." In a second step, Goethe Business School set itself the goal of using modern and modular technology to make digital elements of learning more agile and innovative.

Students at Goethe Business School are the first in Germany to learn with MaxBrain and Slack

The transition from a rigid open source LMS to an innovative SaaS technology worked smoothly thanks to well-coordinated teamwork and organizational flexibility. Managing Director Christian Jansen, thinks long-term. He puts innovation ahead of isolated applications of existing technologies. Want an example? "What good is a discussion forum used by a professor if 200 participants have to do without mobile learning for it? We have particularly high hopes for the rollout of Slack for faster collaboration and communication to replace the sluggish medium of email. The technology is fully integrated with MaxBrain 's digital learning environment."

Jansen outlines his thoughts on digital transformation in continuing education as follows: "In concrete terms, digital transformation in continuing education means one thing above all: what are the currently dominant teaching and learning concepts and what technologies are needed for them? Answering this question exposes the need for digital learning technology - always with the question in mind: how often and for what is a technology needed?"

MaxBrain meets the zeitgeist with agility, simplicity, integration and 80/20

"The starting point for the renewal of our learning technology was the need for a strong mobile learning component," recounts decision-maker and Associate Managing Director Anja Weigt. "The participants in our continuing education programs are all working professionals and travel a lot, either for work or to attend on-campus sessions - those who can use travel time productively are in many ways ahead of the game. The next steps on the path to modernizing our continuing education technology are consistent system integration and optimizing the learning experience based on analyzed user behavior."
