BLT Campus
Setting the Course for Tomorrow's Mobility

We’re moving forward: With this promise, BLT Baselland Transport AG (BLT) sets the course for the future. The foundation for this is laid by BLT’s own campus, through which the privately operated mobility provider aims to efficiently train its 600 employees, provide targeted development opportunities, and attract and inspire new talent.

Initial Situation
Learning between daily operations and organizational development

To address the impending generational transition and, at the same time, ensure the required safety and quality in operations over the long term, BLT decided to strategically realign its approach to training. Going forward, continuing education was to be organized efficiently and culturally embedded in the company’s development. Five key aspects shaped the initial situation.

1
Cultural Significance
of Continuing Education

As the demographic landscape changes, BLT faces a growing need to transform its existing corporate culture into a modern, digital learning environment. The goal is to strengthen and secure the company’s appeal as an employer and its competitiveness over the long term.

2
Growing Demand
for Structured Learning Programs

Shift work, decentralized work assignments, and the large number of transportation service employees have made it difficult to date to offer training content in a structured manner. At the same time, approving external training programs required a significant amount of manual effort for organization and authorization.

3
Transformation to
digital learning environment

Internal training sessions were primarily conducted in person at the operations center. External training programs were organized through manual application processes and were neither digitized nor centrally trackable. There was no digital learning platform available to centrally manage continuing education.

4
Bringing Corporate Culture to Life

By establishing its own campus, BLT set out to accelerate the onboarding process, identify potential early on, and bring the company’s values to life through the learning process. The BLT Campus serves as a virtual meeting place, strengthens the culture of learning, and positions BLT as a modern employer for future generations.

5
MaxBrain Selected

The decision to choose MaxBrain was a deliberate choice in favor of a partner that combines technology, integration, and instructional expertise. The modular LMS/LXP solution integrates seamlessly into the existing IT landscape and enables BLT to create company- and subject-specific learning content.

“MaxBrain is much more than just a software provider to us. As a strategic partner, MaxBrain combines market-leading learning technology with expertise in media-based instruction and a strong educational network. This has enabled us to create a learning environment that allows us to strategically steer our corporate development and implement our Future Skills strategy.”

Solution
: Learning Becomes a Culture

Through the BLT Campus, BLT integrates continuing education into the workday and creates an environment for continuous learning. Part of this is “Vorwärtszeit,” a weekly learning session for all employees that turns learning into a core value.

Digital Learning World in the BLT brand style

The campus is designed in line with BLT's visual identity and reflects the company's brand. A dedicated domain and branded mobile apps for iOS and Android featuring the BLT design ensure high brand recognition.

: Tailored Learning Paths for Targeted Knowledge Transfer

At the BLT Campus, every employee receives a development roadmap tailored to their role, experience, and career prospects. This includes technical training—such as driver training—leadership programs, and courses focused on future skills.

Mobile Access to Learning Content
Learning Integrated into Everyday Life

The mobile app provides access to the BLT Campus at any time. Whether you're at the depot, on the go, or between shifts—learning is integrated flexibly into your daily work routine, regardless of location.

Integration of external course offerings
Access to curated expert knowledge

In addition to in-house expertise, the BLT Campus offers access to a network of leading educational institutions, such as Kalaidos University of Applied Sciences and Digicomp, as well as professional language course providers like Speex.

BLT Challenge

Demographic

It increases the need for new skilled workers and carries the risk of a loss of expertise due to the impending generational shift.

Shift Work & Availability

Shift work and decentralized assignments make it difficult for the approximately 400 transportation service employees to access continuing education.

Manual
Manual effort

Analog approval processes and a lack of digital analysis tools prevent centralized management of continuing education.
